North Carolina Abortion Story Film Premiere

April 18, 2024 @ 7:00 pm

North Carolina's Abortion Story is an impactful documentary by the ACLU of North Carolina and Narrative Arts that aims to amplify the voices of individuals navigating the landscape of reproductive rights in North Carolina. The film explores the history of abortion in North Carolina, the modern movement for reproductive justice, and the impact of abortion bans on patients and providers. Through intimate interviews, personal narratives, and expert commentary, the documentary paints a vivid picture of the historic and current barriers impacting people seeking abortion in the state. Join us as we dive into the devastating impact of political attacks in a state already struggling to provide abortion seekers with safe harbor.

Please join us for the premiere of North Carolina's Abortion Story at the Varsity Theater in Chapel Hill.

We will be screening the 10 minute film, followed by a panel discussion with experts in reproductive justice, including some of the individuals interviewed in the film. This event is presented in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Generation Action students from UNC Chapel Hill.
