Across our state and across the country, reckless ICE and CBP operations have inflicted fear and lasting harm on immigrant families and entire communities. Raids, detentions, and so-called “enforcement actions” have turned neighborhoods, homes, workplaces, schools, and places of worship into sites of terror. These agencies operate with impunity, separating families, detaining people in inhumane conditions, and violating the constitutional rights of citizens and non-citizens alike.

All North Carolinians deserve safety, dignity, and freedom from fear, not militarized federal agents that target our neighbors, destabilize communities, and erode public trust in government. No one should live under constant threat simply because of their immigration status.

In response to this, we have created a petition that is demanding that NC elected officials:

  • Publicly condemn the abusive and dehumanizing practices of ICE and CBP;
  • Refuse collaboration with ICE and CBP operations that harm our communities, to the extent permitted by state law;
  • Work toward ending detention, deportation, and enforcement systems rooted in cruelty and racialized violence.

But we need your help to raise awareness of this petition and get signatures to send a message: Silence is complicity. Bold leadership is needed now to uphold the rights of all North Carolinians, regardless of immigration status.

Join us for a text bank during which we will be reaching out to people to let them know the petition exists and that we'd love for them to sign it!
