House Bill 805 includes multiple provisions targeting transgender and nonbinary communities, as well as schools, in the state. These provisions include:

  • Forcing trans people to out themselves in situations where a birth certificate is needed 
  • Creating rigid definitions of sex and gender in state law
  • Extending the time for medical malpractice suits for gender affirming care in an attempt to intimidate providers
  • Banning gender affirming care for people in the custody of the Department of Adult Correction
  • Allowing parents to:
    • Prohibit their child from checking out certain books in the school library for any reason 

    • Pull their child from any classroom activity or discussion that they believe burdens their religion
