Classroom censorship efforts work to effectively erase the history and lived experiences of women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ people, and censor discussions around race, gender, and sexuality that impact people’s daily lives. Assaults on academic freedom can also violate the 1st Amendment.

Bill was passed by the NC General Assembly and vetoed by Governor Stein. However, the General Assembly could still override the veto and enact it into law.
