This bill revokes the ability for minors to provide consent to certain types of health care services without parent permission.

This bill defines child abuse and neglect to exclude a parent’s or caregiver’s refusal to acknowledge or support a child’s gender identity. It prohibits the state from denying adoption placements based on a family’s unwillingness to support a child's gender transition.

This bill severely restricts the books that can be added to public school libraries and allows parents and county residents to sue public schools that violate these book-banning bills.

HB 606 includes several anti-trans provisions, including increasing the statute of limitations for gender affirming care related medical malpractice claims and prohibiting the use of state funds for gender-affirming care for those who are incarcerated.
