Ending Cash Bail: A Community Conversation about Criminal Justice Reform

July 14, 2018 @ 12:30 pm

Join us on Saturday, July 14, at 12:30 pm at Sanctuary Brewing Company to learn about the ACLU of North Carolina's statewide effort to overhaul our broken criminal justice system.

Money shouldn't determine anyone's freedom. But in North Carolina, our shameful system of cash bail has created a two-tiered justice system that treats people differently not because of the crime they've committed but because of the color of their skin and the size of their bank account.

That's why we are launching a statewide, multiyear effort to overhaul our broken criminal justice system. We are focusing on the unjust for-profit bail system that strips people of their rights, targets poor people and people of color, and hurts families and communities. And we need your help.

Come to our forum to learn about this urgent problem plaguing our state and join the movement to end cash bail.
