This bill would prevent applications for employment in state, municipal, and county government offices from asking about race. It also prevents trainings for government employees from including “divisive concepts,” which is broadly defined. Under the bill, certain organizations (state agencies, local government, and non-state entities) would be prohibited from using state funds for diversity, equity and inclusion programming. Violation would be a Class 1 misdemeanor.
