WASHINGTON – The U.S. Supreme Court today announced it would not review appeals court rulings in seven states, including one from Virginia by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, striking down state bans on marriage for same-sex couples.

RICHMOND, VA – The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, which has jurisdiction over North Carolina and four other states, will hear oral arguments Tuesday, May 13, in a case challenging Virginia’s ban on marriage for same-sex couples.
Catawba County officials announced this evening that they would allow a group of citizens to hold a protest on the lawn of the Catawba County Justice Center following a day of negotiations with the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina Legal Foundation (ACLU-NCLF).
